Details

Inclusive walk at the City Park

During the walk, we will go through one of the world’s first public parks and its surroundings, the City Park. The walk takes about one and a half hours, progressing comfortably. The walk takes about one and a half hours, progressing comfortably. The route is a mix of cultural, historical, park-like, or romantic atmospheres, with hidden and less hidden sculptures along the way, ensuring everyone will enjoy it.

All parts of the walk are barrier-free, so no one with a wheelchair is left out, and there are no steeper parts, only minor irregularities will be on the way, which we will avoid. You can also come with a guide dog, and one companion can join the walk for free per person with a disability. The guide is trained for guiding the visually impaired and can assist with wheelchair navigation. Additionally, depending on the number of assistants needed, we can provide multiple helpers after prior coordination.

The meeting is at the Hősök tere M1 metro stop towards Mexikói út. For the visually impaired, it can be easily reached by the M1 subway, with or without a guide dog. In order to avoid the steps of the subway entrance, wheelchair users can get there in a 2-minute walk with the low-floor buses 20E, 30, 30A, 210, 105. We start from the Heroes’ Square, go to the Hungarian Ethnographic Museum, the City Park Ice Rink and Boating, and the Vajdahunyad Castle. Then, we can optionally end the walk at the following locations according to the tourists preference, where our guides will happily help in anything, let it be ticket purchase, etc.

This could be the biggest in bath at Budapest, the Széchenyi Baths, or one of the oldest zoos in the world, the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden, or one of the most important places of the Hungarian gastronomy, the Gundel Cafe Patisserie Restaurant, or even the Museum of Fine Arts. Depending on the location, the final stops are a 5-15 minute walk from the starting point on Hősök Square. Also the Széchenyi fürdő or Állatkert stops of the barrier-free trolley bus number 72 are a 2-minute walk from each location, which also has a stop at the Heroes’ Square.
